Vancouver Cocktail Week comes to Hastings Crossing & Gastown March 3-10, 2024

Vancouver Cocktail Week (VCW) returns March 3 – 10, 2024, and we are excited to toast the local spots who will be mixing up some creative cocktails this year. Along with neighbourhood cocktail crawls, Cinq à Sept Happy Hours, and exclusive seminars, you will be sure to find that perfect cocktail-centric evening during this year’s festival. Cinq à Sept Happy Hours

Happy hours between March 3 and 10 across the city will feature VCW signature cocktails, snacks, and entertainment. Happening nightly from 5-7pm.

Cantina 189 (324 W Hastings Street) will be featuring custom, handcrafted cocktails with Tromba tequila, Campari bitters and Flor de Caña rum, and enjoy 25% off tapas all week long. Running the bar will be managing partner Tara Davies, formerly from Toronto’s revered Bar Raval, alongside Erick Vazquez, bar manager of Cantina 189 and Chupito, a Mexico City ex-pat with expertise in all things agave and a passion for Mexican ingredients. They specialize in accessible, low-waste cocktails made by reusing otherwise discarded ingredients from sister restaurant, La Taqueria.

VCW Signature Events

Birds of a Feather: PiDGiN x OWL&ROOSTER with Nikka

PiDGiN | March 6, 6-9pm

The Michelin-recommended restaurant seamlessly blends Nikka Whisky artistry with Asian and Pacific Northwest ingredients in a five-course dinner. Set in the heart of Gastown, guests will experience the harmonious fusion of culinary craftsmanship and Nikka spirit excellence as each dish is thoughtfully paired with Nikka creations.

Limited seating ensures a refined atmosphere, making it a not to be missed celebration of Nikka at PiDGiN. Furthermore, guests will have the exclusive opportunity to meet Naoki Tomoyoshi and Nozomi Odaohara of Nikka Whisky, who will be present to engage with attendees and share insights into the world of Japanese Whisky.

As a special addition, we will also welcome guest bartender Hisatsugu Saito from Bar OWL&ROOSTER in Sapporo to start the evening with a cocktail creation from his town in Hokkaido, Japan.

Tickets include a 5-course meal paired with 5 Nikka cocktails and the opportunity to meet Naoki Tomoyoshi and Nozomi Odaohara of Nikka Whisky and Hisatsugu Saito of Bar OWL&ROOSTER.

Spirited Women

Cantina 189 | March 8, 6-8pm

Celebrate International Women’s Day with like-minded spirits. Dive into the world of Scotch whisky and learn about the important roles women have played in its past and shaping its future. Enjoy over cocktails and tacos.

Your ticket includes the choice of three 4″ tacos (carnitas, carne asada, birria, enfrijolada or rajas con crema) plus a whisky-based cocktail (pastor fat-washed whisky, pineapple husk and cilantro cordial, lime husk tincture).
